TXD · Buccal Shield Arch Expansion Appliance
Posterior buccal shields work with arch-guidance features to assist adjustment of posterior dental arch width while considering posterior tooth inclination. Suitability and changes are assessed by the clinician.
Design & structure
For selected narrow dental arches with relatively upright posterior teeth. Posterior buccal shields are incorporated into the expansion design to address both width and axial inclination, rather than aiming only for buccal tipping of posterior crowns.
Clinical use & follow-up
At follow-up, review arch width, posterior tooth inclination, buccal shield fit, occlusal contacts and gingival condition.
